Advice for HR professionals

Here to help you

Our Family Benefits Advice Service works directly with employers to help them achieve a manageable work/life balance for their employees.

We offer employers a telephone helpline 028 9267 8200 and outreach service to help guide HR professionals through the process of implementing family friendly policies and offer advice and guidance on employment legislation relating to issues such as parental leave and flexible working.

“I found your session extremely useful and more importantly, the staff did also! It was really great that you remained impartial and highlighted facts and quirks of the scheme as well as differences etc. it was extremely useful to have a representative come onsite rather than direct staff to read material online. As for the 121 sessions, I have received positive feedback as this is where employees received advice on the most beneficial/cost saving scheme for them. These sessions were quick, painless and honest which was most appreciated. Overall you were very professional and presented information in a straightforward, understandable manner. You were also flexible on the day with a back to back schedule, so thank you for coming in and your patience on the day!” HR Manager, Kainos

How to implement family friendly polices in the workplace?

We have asked those organisations who have previously won the accolade of ‘Family Friendly Employer’ to tell us how they implemented practical family friendly policies in the workplace. Read through the employer interviews on the left hand side navigation to find out what it means to be a family friendly employer, how it impacts on their organisation and the advice they offer to other HR professionals and managers.
