Chris Briggs from our Family Benefits Advice Service sets out some useful information on Child Benefit - who is eligible and how to claim. He reminds parents that it is important to apply for Child Benefit even if they are not eligible to receive the payment as it will ensure they receive National Insurance credits and that their child receives their National Insurance number when they turn 16.
