Power To The People: Cross party support to keep Childcare Vouchers Open as MPs sign letter to the Chancellor

A letter in support of keeping Childcare Vouchers open, and signed by MPs from a cross section of parties, was sent to the UK Chancellor Philip Hammond on Friday, 9 March 2018. The letter comes at a critical time as a Parliamentary Vote deciding the future of Childcare Vouchers is taking place in the House of Commons today following the Chancellor’s Spring Statement.  Employers For Childcare is delighted MPs from a cross section of parties have openly shown their commitment to working parents by signing the letter.

Aoife Hamilton, Policy & Information Manager said: “We acknowledge the support of all the MPs who have signed the letter, especially the DUP and Lady Sylvia Hermon. By doing so they send a clear message to working parents that they have heard their call to keep this valuable Scheme open.  What we want now is for them to follow through on this decision by voting in favour of keeping Childcare Vouchers open later today.

“We want to once again, thank all the parents, employers and childcare providers across the UK who supported the extensive campaign to keep Childcare Vouchers open, the power of the people has brought us to this critical moment today. Employers For Childcare will closely monitor the Vote and share updates on our social media (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) throughout today. We encourage you to follow these channels to stay informed”.
