Northern Ireland Childcare Survey – now open!

Calling all parents and childcare providers

The past year has shown just how essential our childcare sector is to all of us and many childcare providers have gone above and beyond to ensure children can continue to access high-quality early education and care during such difficult times. However, it also highlighted many long-standing issues and challenges that both parents and the childcare sector are facing.

This year’s survey comes at a critical time – the Northern Ireland Executive is committed to a new Childcare Strategy, and life has changed so much for all of us since the last full Childcare Survey, due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19. That’s why it’s important for you to share your views and experiences to ensure that we can build a strong evidence base to inform the long overdue and much needed Childcare Strategy which must deliver for parents, providers, and the wider economy.

We hope you can help us in securing a great response for the 12th year of the survey and parents and childcare providers who complete the survey will be entered into a draw to win a £100 shopping voucher!

About the Northern Ireland Childcare Survey

The Northern Ireland Childcare Survey has been conducted since 2010 to explore the cost and provision of childcare and how these impact on parents. It is the most extensive study of its kind in Northern Ireland and is widely used to inform political debates, policy development in relation to the affordability of childcare, and service delivery.

You can view last year’s survey findings here.

The Northern Ireland Childcare Survey is now open! Aoife Hamilton, our Head of Charity Services outlines why it's so vital all parents and childcare providers share their views and experiences of accessing and providing childcare, and the impact of Covid-19 to enable us to campaign for better support and investment in the childcare sector. Just follow the links on our website and social media channels to complete the survey.
