“Best day out in Northern Ireland” at amazing adventure centre

Employers For Childcare’s action packed venue at Sprucefield includes Ireland’s highest Vertical Drop Slide, the adrenalin-pumping Leap of Faith and the stunning Stairway to Heaven, all within a thrilling Clip ‘n Climb arena.

Visitors are loving the climbing experience at High Rise as well as the soft play and sensory rooms with one family commenting: “Really impressed with High Rise, fantastic layout and wow – the staff. Can honestly say you made our night. First class customer service. Can’t wait to visit again.”

What makes High Rise even more special is that it is owned by local charity Employers For Childcare, and all profits go to helping local families.

Speaking to Belfast Live, Chief Executive Marie Marin, said: “We are thrilled with this outstanding guest feedback. They love what High Rise has to offer, especially the exceptional customer service delivered by our phenomenal staff team. The variety of climbing challenges is breathtaking but no previous experience is needed as our staff provide encouragement and prioritise making everyone feel safe. We just love seeing children who start out afraid of heights grow in confidence each time they come back”.

Visitor feedback rates High Rise as the perfect family outing where adults can also join in the excitement, with one remarking: “The venue was spotless, staff plentiful, friendly and confident.  We ranged in age from seven to 84 and we all loved it – we’ll definitely come again and have already recommended to others!”

The staff team are proud of the results of the satisfaction survey which saw 94% of visitors rate their experience as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’.

Marie continues: “We are particularly pleased to hear from families of children with additional needs who previously struggled to find places the whole family could enjoy. They’ve told us that visiting High Rise, and the way we recognise and support their needs has allowed them, for the first time, to enjoy family outings all together”.

As part of its commitment to inclusivity, High Rise has attained the prestigious Autism NI Impact Award and runs autism/ASD friendly sessions. There are two interactive sensory rooms to support guests with additional needs and an accessible Changing Places toilet.

Apart from the huge Clip ‘n Climb arena there’s a fun-filled soft play area for little adventurers, party areas, and a great café serving tasty treats including homemade pizzas and delicious curries.  The centre also offers corporate team-building packages and meeting room hire and welcomes school and youth groups.

Marie adds: “Every visit to High Rise helps us to continue the vital work of our charity, helping local families. High Rise is a great example of Social Enterprise in action and we’d encourage anyone planning a family day out, a group outing or a team away-day to consider ‘buying social’ and visiting High Rise.”
