2016 Winners

The Family Friendly Employers Awards were judged across five different categories. The winners of each category are listed below.

Public Sector and 2016 Overall Winner

Belfast Trust, winner of the Public Sector category and Overall Winner Family Friendly Employer Awards 2016, is the largest integrated Health and Social Care Trust in the United Kingdom.

They deliver integrated health and social care to approximately 340,000 citizens in Belfast and provide the majority of regional specialist services to all of Northern Ireland, with a workforce of over 20,000 (full time and part time). Belfast Trust also comprises the major teaching and training hospitals in Northern Ireland.

Education Sector

Queen’s University Belfast, winner of the Education Sector category – Family Friendly Employer Awards 2016, is a member of the Russell Group comprising 24 leading UK research-intensive universities, providing world-class education & research.

Small Medium Enterprise

Aisling Daycare & After School, winner of the Small Medium Enterprise category – Family Friendly Employer Awards 2016, is based in West Belfast, and owned and managed by sisters Bronagh McAllister and Una Dougherty.

Large Private Sector

Allstate Northern Ireland, winner of the Large Private Sector category – Family Friendly Employer Awards 2016, was established in Belfast in 1999 to provide high quality software development services and business solutions in support of their U.S. parent company’s global operations.

The Allstate Corporation is the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America.

Charity/Social Enterprise

MACS NI, winner of the Charity/Social Enterprise category – Family Friendly Employer Awards 2016, was established in 1990 to provide a range of services for young people. They work with children and young people (aged 11–25) who haven’t had a fair deal. They may be experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, self-harm, mental health issues, leaving care or they are generally at risk.
