  • What other training is required to be a Childcare Temp?

For our roles you are required to have completed Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) and Safeguarding (6 hours). These must be renewed a minimum of every 3 years. If you have not completed one or both of these courses, or your current certificate has expired, then please get in touch as we can offer you the training courses at a discounted rate.

  • What happens after I have a successful interview?

There are 5 steps to becoming a Childcare Temp after a successful interview. Firstly your online AccessNI form must be completed and returned to HR. Once your AccessNI certificate is received by Employers For Childcare, we will send your Health Trust Application. Following Health Trust Approval being successfully granted, you will then be invited to attend your induction.

  • Who will be my employer?

You will be contracted by Employers For Childcare. Essentially we act as the contact between you and the childcare setting. It is our responsibility to ensure that you have ongoing training and support to enable you to deliver a high quality childcare service to the childcare settings.

  • When will I know what work is available?

You will receive updates via email, text and phone call from the Childcare Team regarding available shifts in childcare settings. We recommend that you respond quickly to these as vacancies are regularly in demand.

  • How long will it be before I begin work?

This will depend on the demand in your local area and matching your needs and expectations with a childcare setting.

  • What should I do if I am interested in a position?

If you are interested in working in a Childcare Setting our Childcare Team will contact you to discuss any potential work which is available. Please note you can only begin work once your Health and Social Care Trust approval has been returned.

  • How do I get paid and what are my holiday entitlements?

You will be paid weekly, one week in arrears through direct payment into your bank account on receipt of your completed timesheet. Your payslip will be issued via email so it is essential you have a valid email address to receive this. You will be entitled to holiday pay which you accrue at 12.07% and this can be requested through your line manager at Employers For Childcare.

  • How flexible do I need to be with my hours?

The more flexible you are, the more likely it is that we can provide you with options for work. We ask that all our Childcare Temps are available to work a minimum of 4 hours per session.
