Job Title:                       Catering Assistant

Reporting to:               Catering and Hospitality Manager

Contract Type:            Permanent

Contracted hours:       16 – 20 per week

Working Pattern:         Thursday to Sunday

Salary:                         £11.00

Main Role and Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking meals for the Café, parties and functions including kid’s meals, sandwiches, toasties.
  • Basic food preparation following guidelines on dietary / allergy requirements.
  • Ensure personal and food hygiene, as well as housekeeping standards in the Café areas and kitchen are followed, as per Company policy.
  • Ensure that kitchen is kept clean and tidy at all times, including fridges and freezers and store areas.
  • Ensure that all products stored or displayed are date coded, stock rotated and labelled correctly using the shelf life rule.
  • Understand Health & Safety procedures and ensure they are followed including H.A.C.C.P and C.O.S.H.H.
  • Appropriate storing and cleaning of equipment.
  • Unload deliveries, checking off incoming food deliveries, unpacking and storing food and produce.
  • Carry out any other duties when required.

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of 1 years’ relevant experience working within a busy restaurant / café environment.
  • Valid Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to gain one before starting the role.
