Lack of funding affects 'wraparound childcare'

Employers For Childcare Charitable Group have launched the first ever report to examine wraparound childcare provision in primary schools in Northern Ireland. 49% of schools that participated in the study offered some form of provision, however many schools are unable to offer any form of wraparound childcare due to lack of funding.

Additional funding announced

Employers For Childcare welcomed today's statement from the Department of Education that an additional £3.6million has been allocated over the next three years to Extended Schools funding.  The Charity just yesterday launched a report at Stormont which highlighted that many schools struggle to offer 'wraparound' childcare services.
